Image 3: San Juan’s Chapel. Own image
You have traveled back in time again. But this time the time jump has been greater: you are at the beginning of the 17th century. The village has disappeared and only a few very simple buildings remain, among which San Juan’s chapel stands out.
Bajamar is geographically limited by the mouth of the Vargas ravine which comes from Anaga and takes the name of San Juan at its end. After the conquest of Tenerife by the Castilian troops, and thanks to its fresh water springs, some colonists settled in this area and built the San Juan chapel.
